Sponsored Content Policy
Last reviewed: 2026-01-30.
Definitions
- Editorial content is written and approved by our editorial team. Affiliate links may exist but compensation does not influence the editorial conclusion.
- Sponsored content is content paid for by a third party. The third party may supply the topic, draft, or final review, but the page is labeled "Sponsored" and clearly separated from editorial rankings.
- Native advertising refers to sponsored articles written in our style. We will only publish native advertising that is clearly labeled, factually accurate, and consistent with our Affiliate Disclosure.
Labeling requirements
- The word "Sponsored" appears above the headline, in the byline area, and at the top of the article body.
- Sponsored articles never appear inside an editorial ranking.
- Sponsored content never uses our normal content-status labels (Lab Tested, Expert Researched, etc.).
What we will not do
- We will not accept payment to change a review score.
- We will not remove a negative finding in exchange for compensation.
- We will not label sponsored content as editorial.
- We will not allow sponsors to review or pre-approve editorial content.
